Google Takes Advantage of Social Networking

Hey everyone, I’m Nick, one of the guys who came to talk to you in class. As this semester progresses, you’re going to find that I really like Google. One of the things that I find most intriguing about them, as a company, is that they offer a huge variety of services, completely free of charge all while staying profitable. Their “don’t be evil” mantra shows that they acknowledge how important corporate responsibility is in the era of social networks.

With that said, allow me to introduce a new feature that Google has been working on. It’s called “Google Social Search” and it essentially allows you, and your social circle to be able to find information they publish publicly online, right in your Google search results. Below is a video that explains the feature:

So, after watching the video, what do you guys think? Is this feature something you might use? Or, alternatively, do you think there might be some negative social implications of having this information so easily found? Feel free to comment! Don’t forget to take your quiz, though! Also, if you have a twitter account, please follow us for updates! We have like 4 followers and it’s very lonely đŸ˜¦

I found the information interesting. I don’t think I would personally use it though. I don’t think it will be as big as the actual social networking sites themselves.

I thought the video was really interesting. I don’t know if I would use it, but I think that other people will get a lot of use out of it. Google comes up with some amazing ideas.

if it was used correctly and you had a large group of friends who were also really into the idea, then this would be very essential for getting some first hand insight
