I would first like to thank everyone that has read our blog posts and has written comments. If you weren’t interested in technology before, I hope you might be interested after reading them. Although this is my last blog post for this technology blog, I won’t be leaving the tech world any time soon.
In 2 weeks I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems with a focus on Web Application Development and a minor in Business Administration. What am I doing after I graduate? Well, I will be joining an awesome company called Groupon (you may have heard of it if you enjoy deals!) as a Software Engineer. I am very excited to end my awesome college career and start a new path in my life in the world of tech. There are a ton of great companies out there that are looking for Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Telecom and many more technology majors!
If you think you may have an interest in technology, you should go see Lisa Walter (the advisor for ITK majors) and see what major would be good for you! Please feel free to contact me about anything if you are considering changing to a tech major.
You can email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
For real, if you have questions I would be more than willing to answer!
Thanks again for reading. No BB quiz this time!
Thank you everyone for your comments and continued reading the entire semester. I hope you learned a thing or two, and at least consider a career in technology. This is a bit backwards, but now as the semester is coming to an end I wanted to quickly tell a little about my experience in the exciting field of technology.
I am a Business Information Systems major inside of the College of Business here at ISU. As a BIS major, I learn how we can use technology to solve complex business problems. Almost every company is looking to invest time and resources into technology, but they need help to decide when, where, and how! It’s an exciting field in which I have already have had two employment/internship opportunities!
I highly encourage everyone to at least consider a career in technology, and please feel free to contact me about anything.
Good luck on finals!
ISU MAT 120 students — if you’ve been reading the blog and you are curious about how you might get ready for living in a tech-oriented world, I’m offering free advice. Maybe you want to know more about what goes on in some ISU courses that deal with IT. Maybe you want to make contact with a local business or industry IT person to learn about career opportunities.
Since I don’t teach in any of the IT-related departments, but I have connections with them, I might be able to give you some independent and useful help.
Easiest contact is e-mail: Kenton.Machina@ilstu.edu
Have a good week!
